Tips - How to take care of Dogs in the Summer

take care of Dogs in the Summer

Take care of Dogs in the Summer: It’s summer, and the weather is finally starting to feel like summer! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the days are long and warm. For many people, the summer months mean days spent outside with the family dogs, running and playing in the great outdoors. But even though summer is the season of fun in the sun, it can also be tricky to keep dogs comfortable in the heat.

Your dog can’t sweat as you can, so on hot days provide shade, preferably with a breeze, and make sure there are lots of freshwaters. If you’re going to be in the sun a lot, don’t forget to reapply sunscreen to your dog too.

Keep windows and doors closed and shuttered to prevent excessive heat and humidity. Open them occasionally to provide ventilation, but close up again to minimize the heat. If you must go outdoors, take the dog early in the morning or late in the evening, when it's cooler. Lay a cool, damp cloth on the dog's back and belly, and give it plenty of cool drinks.

Keeping your dog cool during the summer can be a challenge. The best thing you can do is to provide your dog with a place to get out of the heat. This can be as simple as keeping the door to your backyard open when it’s hot, or providing access to the air-conditioned indoors when it’s too hot to be outside. You can also provide your dog with ways to keep cool, such as providing water and shade, or even small pools of water to cool off in.

Keep your dog cool in the summer by providing lots of water, shade and a place to rest. Make sure your dog is comfortable and doesn't get too hot. If you're going to be outside for a long time, especially in the heat, it's a good idea to bring along a water bottle for your dog. It's also a good idea to feed a healthy diet and prevent overheating by providing a cool place for your dog to rest, such as a shady spot or a kiddie pool.
